1) What is NetBanking, credit/debit card (Payment Gateway) facility?

This facility enables you to make payments for various services / products using your netbanking, visa/master debit or credit card through Payment Gateway. (Payment Gateway include transaction through Credit / Debit Card * and through Net Banking*). This will connect to your banking system through secure mode for making payments for various product/s offered by us.

* Please note Credit/Debit card facility is available only for premium knowledge program offered by ICICI direct Centre for Financial Learning.

*Netbanking facility is available for Centre for Financial Learning, Mutual Fund (MF) and Insurance transactions and IPO. You cannot use netbanking facility to do the transactions in Equity (Cash) and Derivatives.

2) Are the any terms and conditions applicable to the Payment gateway facility?

The Terms and conditions applicable to the Payment Gateway facility have been posted online on the website www.icicidirect.com. You can view the terms and conditions at the time of placing an instruction on the site. Please note that you will not be permitted to transact under this facility unless you have read and accepted the online terms and conditions.

3) Is Payment gateway facility available for all categories of accounts on www.icicidirect.com?

No. Payment Gateway feature has been introduced on www.icicidirect.com for only Resident Individual account holders of ICICI Securities Limited. The feature is available for existing resident individual accounts holders as well.

The Payment Gateway facility is presently not available for Non resident Indian clients and Corporate clients.

4) I do not have ICICIdirect A/c. Can I still use my credit card on ICICIdirect.com ?

Yes, you can use your credit card to register yourself for for Premium knowledge programs offered by ICICI direct Centre for Financial Learning. Once you select the programme, you will be prompted to register as Guest User. Post creating your Guest User ID and Password, you can proceed to register for any Premium Knowledge Programme offered by ICICIdirect Centre for Financial Learning.

5) How can I apply for the netbanking (Payment gateway) facility?

You can avail the netbanking (Payment Gateway) Facility by completing the necessary documentation.

You will be required to visit your nearest ICICIdirect Store and fill the request form for mapping an additional Bank account to your trading/ investment account. Please also submit a cancelled cheque bearing your name and a self attested copy of the latest Bank Statement/ Pass Book of the bank account that you wish to map alongwith the application

If the documents provided by you are valid and in order, your request will be processed and the bank account will be mapped to your trading/ investment account. If you you do not have an existing trading account, you will have to complete the necessary documentation for availing the netbanking (Payment gateway) facility.

6) Do I need to register for a credit / debit card transaction also?

No. You don't need to register separately, if you already have ICICIdirect a/c. However, if you do not have ICICIdirect a/c, then only you need to register yourself as a Guest User. Once you select the programme, you will be prompted to register as Guest User. Post creating your Guest User ID and Password, you can proceed to register any Premium Knowledge Programme offered by ICICIdirect Centre for Financial Learning.

7) Which kinds of Cards can be accepted to register for premium programmes offered by ICICIdirect Centre for Financial Learning. ? (Master / Visa / Amex):

Currently, this facility is available only for Visa card holders. Visa Debit and Credit cards both can be used for the payment.

8) Can I use my credit card/debit card for placing MF, Insurance , Fixed Deposits and IPO transactions under this facility?

No. You cannot place MF, Insurance and Fixed deposit and IPO transactions through your credit/debit card. You can place above mentioned transactions through Net banking. Netbanking is a mode enabled to facilitate Payment Gateway transactions

Further, you can use credit/debit card mode of payment for Premium Knowledge Programmes only.

9) Which products/services are enabled under the Payment Gateway facility?

The Payment Gateway facility can be used for investing in various products/services like Mutual funds, Insurance, Fixed deposits,IPO, Tax related services and the like. However, the facility cannot be used to place transactions in Equity, Futures and Options and Currency Derivative segment.

Credit/debit card cannot be used to transact in any above mentioned products.

Credit and debit card can be used only for Premium knowledge programmes offered by ICICI direct Centre for Financial Learning.

Any other Additional products / services like making payments towards your utility bills and the like will be enabled under this facility in a phased manner by I-Sec. The availability/non-availability of a particular products/service shall be intimated to the clients by displaying the same on the www.icicidirect.com. I-Sec reserves the right to make additions/deletions to the products/ services offered through this Facility at its sole discretion

10) How do I use my credit / debit card to register myself for Programs offered by Centre for Financial Learning ?

You need to follow below mentioned three Simple steps to register for a programme using Credit / Debit card:

Step 1: Visit Centre for Financial Learning on ICICIdirect.com
Step 2: Select the programme that you wish you attend
Step 3: At the time of payment, select Credit / Debit Card as mode of payment.

11) Can I use my credit/ debit card to register my friends / relatives for Programmes offered by Centre for Financial Learning ?

Yes, you can register your friends / relatives also for the programmes. After selecting the programme that you wish to attend, you will have a facility to add participant?s names who wish to attend the programme with or without you. You can register a maximum of 10 participants in one transaction.

12) Is there any charge for a credit / debit card transaction?

No, there are no charges for Credit and Debit card transaction. You just need to pay for the programme fee.

Note As credit/ debit card can be used only for fee payment of Premium Knowledge Programs hence below mentioned FAQs are related to usage of netbanking (payment gateway) facility only.

13) What is the meaning of designated' bank?

A Designated bank is a bank which is enabled for the Payment Gateway facility on www.icicidirect.com. You can transact through the Payment Gateway facility only through bank accounts maintained with the designated banks.

In case the minimum amount is not maintained in your bank account, it may so happen that an instruction placed by you in the payment gateway facility is not honoured by your bank. Alternatively, your bank may levy charges on you for not maintaining the minimum balance. Please obtain complete information in this regard from your bank.

14) Which are the designated banks for the Payment Gateway facility on www.icicidirect.com?

Presently, the Payment Gateway facility is enabled on www.icicidirect.com for transactions through the following designated banks:

Axis Bank

Bank of Baroda

Dhanlaxmi Bank

HDFC Bank

ICICI Bank

IDBI Bank

Indian Overseas Bank

Jammu & Kashmir Bank

Karur Vysya Bank

Standard Chartered Bank

Additional banks may be enabled for this facility in a phased manner as per the discretion of I-Sec. I-Sec reserves the right to change the list of Banks enabled for the facility, at its sole discretion, without any prior intimation.

15) How can I benefit by using the Payment Gateway facility?

The Payment Gateway facility allows you to create limits by transferring funds from different bank accounts, maintained with designated banks and use the same as per your convenience. The Limits created by you can be used for transacting in various products/services as permitted for the account type held by you.

16) How can I add to my current Allocation under this facility?

To increase your current allocation amount, please visit the ?Modify Allocation? page of your investment account and enter the amount you wish to transfer from your registered bank account for increasing your buying limit.

I-Sec system shall now ask you to select a bank account number and name of the bank account from which you want to transfer the funds. You can select only one bank account at a time.

You will now be taken to the NetBanking page of the bank selected by you where you will have to enter your log-in id and password (which is provided by your bank). On successful completion of the transaction you shall be redirected to www.icicidirect.com where you will view the the message that the said transaction has been completed successfully.

You can check your limits which would have been increased by the funds transfer through the payment gateway facility.

17) Can I modify the transaction amount at any time while using the Payment Gateway facility?

No. You cannot modify the transaction amount after you have been directed to the NetBanking page of your bank. However, you can cancel the transaction at any time prior to submitting it.

18) I have an ICICI bank account linked to my trading/investment account. Can I increase my allocation in my existing account by transferring funds through the Payment Gateway facility?

No. You will be able to increase your current allocation in your trading/investment account only through your linked ICICI bank account.

19) Is there is any requirement for maintaining minimum allocation (balance) in my trading/investment account?

No. There is no requirement of maintaining a minimum allocation in your trading/investment account. However, you will have to maintain the minimum balance in your bank account as stipulated by your bank.

In case the minimum amount is not maintained in your bank account, it may so happen that an instruction placed by you in the payment gateway facility is not honoured by your bank. Alternatively, your bank may levy charges on you for not maintaining the minimum balance. Please obtain complete information in this regard from your bank.

20) Can I place transactions through the Payment Gateway facility without creating prior limits under allocation?

Presently, you can place transactions without creating prior limits for investments in Mutual fund units only.

To avail of this Payment source, you will have to select the ?NetBanking (Payment Gateway)? option on the order placement page of the Mutual Fund section.

On accepting the final confirmation page and the mandatory online Terms and Conditions, you will be routed to the NetBanking section of the bank selected by you through the Payment Gateway channel. You will be required to follow the directions/ procedure of the bank selected by you as appearing on the page. If the NetBanking transaction status is successful, your Mutual fund purchase order will be accepted in system or else it will be canceled by the system.

21) Where can I view the Allocation amount and the Limits available to me under the Payment Gateway facility?

You can view the Allocation and the available Limits by accessing the 'Limit' option of your online trading/investment account.

22) Is there a limit on the number of bank accounts that I can map to my trading/investment account?

Yes. You can map only 3 Bank accounts, held with designated banks, to your trading/ Investment account. Please note that you can map only such bank accounts in which you are the first holder.

I-Sec will permit clients to map additional bank accounts on a case to case basis.

23) I have two accounts with the same bank. Can I use both the accounts under the Payment Gateway facility?

Yes. However, this is subject to the maximum number of bank accounts (currently 3 bank accounts) that is permitted to be mapped to your investment/trading account.

24) I hold a 3-in1 account with I-Sec. Can I avail the Payment Gateway facility through my existing account?

Yes. An existing 3-in-1 account holder can avail of the payment gateway facility for select products/services. Presently, you can avail of this facility for placing Mutual Fund transactions.

Since you have an ICICI bank account linked to your trading account, you will not be able to create limits under 'allocation' through the payment gateway facility in your trading.

25) I have opened a 3-in-1 account. Can I map my other bank account to my existing account trading account to avail payment gateway facility from this account?

Yes. You can map other bank accounts to your existing trading account to avail the Payment Gateway facility.

26) Are all products/services that are enabled under the Payment Gateway facility available for all types of accounts?

No. You will be able to place instructions in various products/services under this facility depending upon the type of account held by you.

If you are holding a Investment account, you can use the Payment Gateway facility for various products/services like Mutual funds, Insurance, Fixed deposits, tax related services and the like.

However, if you are holding a normal 3-in-1 account, you will be able to use the Payment Gateway facility for making investments in Mutual Funds units only.

27) Can I register an SIP (in mutual fund units) if I do not have an ICICI Bank account linked to my Investment account?

Yes. You can register SIP transactions (for mutual funds) even if you do not have an ICICI Bank account linked to your trading/investment account. However, for the successful execution of the periodical SIP transaction you will have to ensure that required free limits are available in your investment/trading account before the SIP trigger date.

Please note that your SIP transaction will be cancelled if adequate limits are not available in your trading/investment account on the trigger date.

28) I have an ICICI Bank account linked to my trading/investment account. Can I switch completely to Payment gateway facility for all transactions?

No. As mentioned earlier if you have an ICICI Bank account linked to your trading/investment account you can use the Payment gateway facility for placing transactions in Mutual Fund units only .

29) I transfer funds from a bank account where I am not the first holder?

No. You can register only such bank accounts for the Payment Gateway Facility in which you are the first holder.

Please note that you are not permitted to transfer funds through a bank account where you are not the first holder.

30) I have erroneously transferred funds from a bank account which is not registered under the Payment Gateway. What should I do now?

If you have transferred funds from an unregistered bank account, you will have to submit a cancelled cheque bearing your name and a self attested copy of the latest Bank Statement/ Pass Book of the concerned bank account within 5 days of the transaction . You can submit the documents at the nearest ICICIdirect store.

If you do not submit the documents or we observe that the funds have been transferred from a bank account wherein you are not the first holder, your funds/investments are likely to be withheld by I-Sec. Also, I-Sec may, at its discretion, initiate suspension of your account and also disciplinary action as may be appropriate under the Anti Money Laundering guidelines.

31) What is the meaning of default account?

The bank account that will be used for crediting all your funds payouts is termed as ?Default? account under this facility.

In case you have an ICICI bank account linked to your trading/investment account, the linked bank account will be the default account.

In any other case, you will have to specify any one of your bank accounts as a default account. In case you had only given one bank account for mapping to your investment/trading account the same shall be treated as your default bank account.

Details of your ?Default? account will be communicated to the respective AMCs/Registrars/ /intermediaries (referred to as Payees) as deemed necessary to ensure that amounts due to you are credited to your default account.

32) I want to link an ICICI Bank account to my trading/ Investment account. Will my ?Default? account be changed automatically?

Yes. As mentioned earlier, if an ICICI Bank account is linked to your trading/ Investment Account, the linked ICICI Bank account automatically becomes your default account irrespective of the account chosen by you earlier.

The details of the linked ICICI Bank account will be intimated to the respective Payees and all future funds payout due to you will be credited to your linked ICICI Bank account only.

33) Can I change my Default bank account?

You can change your Default account only if you do not have an ICICI bank account linked to your trading/investment account.

Bank accounts in which you are the first holder and held with the designated banks will only be permitted to be mapped for the Payment Gateway facility.

34) What is the process for changing the Default bank account?

To change a Default bank account, you will have to submit a written request at any of our stores. The application form shall be provided to you by our officer. In case you want to link your any other registered bank account as your default bank account in that case the application form will have to be signed by you along with all the joint holders (if any). If your application is found complete in all respect, change of default bank account will be updated by us in our records.

The details of your new Default bank account will be intimated to the respective Payees. The time taken to process your request may vary in case of each Payee.

35) I have requested for change in my Default bank account. I have an amount due to be credited to me. In which account will I receive the amount?

The payout amount will be credited to the existing default account as appearing in the Payees records at the time of placing the request.

36) FMy Default bank account is non functional/inactive/closed or I-Sec is unable to credit the funds to my Default account due to some reason. How will I get the credit my funds?

Any change in the status of your default bank account should be updated with I-Sec and the respective Payees on an immediate basis. If the same is not done, your withdrawal/redemption request will not be completed.

For all such withdrawal request placed by you, the amount will be added back to your allocation amount.

To receive the credit of your funds, you will have to place:

   1. a request for changing your default bank account.

   2. a fresh withdrawal request after the new default account is mapped.

In case your redemption request has failed, you will have to get in touch with the Payee (AMC / Principal) for updating details of your new bank account with the Payee.

37) Can I transfer the funds back to the bank account from which I have brought them?

No. Funds payout towards your withdrawal requests will be credited into your ?default? account only.

38) How much time does it take to transfer funds through the Payment gateway facility?

Processing of transactions through the Payment gateway facility is instantaneous on the successful confirmation of debit through your net banking.

39) Will my transaction be cancelled if the network connection breaks in between while I am placing the transaction?

Any transaction placed by you in the Payment Gateway facility goes through the following cycle:

www.icicidirect.com site -> Payment Gateway site -> Bank site -> Payment Gateway site -> www.icicidirect.com site.

It may happen that due to connectivity issues or closure of browser the cycle is broken in between. In such a case, if the amount has been debited from your account, I-Sec may not receive confirmation of the debit. The status of such transactions is temporarily updated as ?Pending? under the 'PG transaction' link of your account

All the pending transactions are subsequently canceled by the system at periodical intervals on best effort basis and the status of the transactions is updated as 'Cancelled'.

40) How will I know the status of the transactions placed by me under this facility?

To view the details of your transactions placed under the Payment Gateway facility, you will have to follow the below mentioned steps:

   1. Login to your trading/ Investment account

   2. Click on the link ?PG Transactions?. You can visit the link on various pages like Mutual Funds/ Fixed Deposits/ Insurance/tax.

   3. Select ?Transactions ?and select the period for which you wish to see the data. You will be able to view the details for the selected period across all products.

You will be able to view the status of each Payment Gateway transaction here.

Status of all successfully completed transactions will be displayed as ?Executed?. Status of incomplete/failed transactions will be displayed as ?Pending?. All such pending transactions shall be canceled by I-Sec at periodical intervals and the status shall be updated as ?Cancelled?.

41) When will I know the status of my transactions placed under this facility?

The status of your transactions will be updated on the 'PG transaction' link immediately after it is processed . I-Sec will endeavor to update the status of your transactions on best effort basis.

42) Funds have been debited from my bank account but allocation in my trading / investment account has not increased. Will my pending instruction be processed in such a case?

This may occur if your bank account has been debited but the status of your Payment Gateway transaction is not received by I-Sec due to connectivity issues or any other reason. In that case the transactions shall stand cancelled by I-Sec and the amount shall be transferred back to your bank account within 7 working days.

43) Are there any restrictions on the number transactions that I can place in the payment gateway facility?

No. There are no such restrictions. You can place as many transactions during the day as you wish to.

However, depending on the cut off timings applicable to each product/service, your instruction will be intimated to the respective Payee for processing either on the same day or on the next working day.

44) Can I withdraw un-utilized funds from my allocation?

Yes. You can withdraw your unutilized funds at any time by placing an online request.

45) How can I withdraw my un-utilized funds?

To withdraw the unutilized funds in your account, you will have to follow the belowmentioned steps:

a. Login to your account.

b. Visit the ?Modify Allocation? page.

c. Select ? Reduce? option in the dropdown and then enter the amount you wish to withdraw.

Your withdrawal request shall be accepted only if free limits are available in your trading/investment account at that time. Your free limits will then be reduced by the amount so withdrawn.

46) When will I get the credit of the withdrawn funds ? In which bank account will the amount be credited?

The funds withdrawn by you will be credited, within 4 working days, to your default bank account registered in our records at the time of placing the withdrawal request.

47) Are there any restrictions on the number of times I can withdraw funds during the day?

No. Presently, you can place fund withdrawal request as many times as you wish during the day.

48) Do I have to pay any charges to I-Sec for withdrawal of funds?

No. Presently, no charges are levied by I-Sec for placing requests for funds withdrawal.

49) Can I view the details of the withdrawal requests placed by me?

Yes. To view the details of the withdrawal requests, you will have to follow the steps given below:

1. Login to your trading/ Investment account

2. Click on the link ?PG Transactions?. You can visit the link on various pages like Mutual Funds/ Fixed Deposits/ Insurance/tax.

3. Select the option ?De-allocations? and select the period for which you wish to see the data.

4. Details of each withdrawal/de-allocation request placed by you for the selected period can be viewed .

50) Will I earn any interest on funds which are not utilised by me?

No. You will not earn any interest on unused free allocation available in your trading/investment account.

51) Will I continue to avail the Payment Gateway facility if I upgrade my existing investment account to a 3-in-1 account?

Yes you can upgrade your investment account to either 3-in-1 or 4-in-1 account and continue to use the NetBanking facility for purchase of mutual fund units. Kindly note that any unutliised amount in your allocation amount created through the Payment gateway facility (before upgradation), if any, will be credited to your default bank account prior to upgrade. Kindly further note that once your account is upgraded the payment gateway facility shall not be available under the allocation page for increasing your buying limits and you shall only be able to do by using of your ICICI Bank account.

You will have to visit to the nearest ICICIdirect Store and will have to complete the upgradation procedure by signing of the requisite agreements (as the case may be) along with the necessary documents.

If the documents provided by you are valid and in order, your request will be taken up for processing.

52) Can I apply for IPO through Payment Gateway (Netbanking) ?

Yes, if you are having a resident account with us then you shall be able to apply for IPO (Non ASBA mode) through Payment Gateway provided you have registered your payment gateway bank details with us.

53) I don't have any demat account linked to my Trading/Investment account and in that case can I apply for the IPO?

Yes. You can apply for IPO by giving your demat account details (NSDL/CDSL) at the time of order placement and allocate the funds either using your linked ICICI Bank account or by using Payment Gateway facility. Kindly note that the applicant in the demat account should be same as in Trading/Investment Account.
